Resort areas of Mexico can give you a break from the bitter Chicago cold. The east coast of Mexico has the popular destinations of Cancun and Cozumel.  The west coast has the Mexican Riviera with Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas.

 

If you don’t mind longer distant travel, cities in Europe, South America and Australia are always great vacation options. You can pick a city based on the climate you would like and the things you would like to do. In Italy, Rome, Venice and Milan are always top choices of travelers. Other popular European cities include Barcelona and Madrid in Spain; Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland; Athens, Santorini and Mykonos in Greece. You might also enjoy spending vacation time in cities in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Croatia.
