Take special care when booking flights for your vacation. Consider the following suggestions…

 

- Look closely at the flight times so you don’t end up arriving the next day or in very early morning hours.

- Non-stop flights will cost more but they are much more convenient than stopping one or two times on your way to a vacation destination.

- If you book flights that involve a connection be sure to check the length of the layover. Too little time may not give you enough time to catch your next flight; too much time will delay the start of your vacation. 

- When traveling to another country on flights that require a stopover, consider having the stopover in the country you are visiting. If your luggage gets lost during the stopover it will already be in the country.

- Consider a layover of at least 2 hours when connecting to a flight in another country. You will need that amount of time to go from the arrival gate to departure gate and to go through the country’s custom check.

- Add the airline’s app to your phone and sign-up for flight schedule notices.
